Default 200 WHP out of ITR?

Alright I have a 97 USDM Type-R motor with AEM intake, AEM underdrive alternator pulley, AEM underdrive power steering pulley. The last time I dynoed the car it was putting out 172 hp to the wheels. I would like to put out a minimum 200 HP NA and smog legal. If I could put out 220 HP at the wheels and still be smog legal I would be estatic.

So is 200 HP NA at the wheels and smog legal doable? If it is what parts should I get and how much will it cost me?

Is 220 HP NA at the wheels and smog legal possible? If 220 is what parts should I get and how much will it cost me?

Thanks in advance to all the help provided.

i dont' think it would be becuase even the simplest thing like bumbping up your CR is not allowed. now there is not way they can tell this but, in all right it will be illegal. and im not aware of a CARB EO cam out there that is worth a damn. and you will def have to get a bigger cam to get close to 200whp.

now you might be able to pass the sniffer test with some mild cams and proper tunning.

well coming to think about it you should pass smog with some pretty nice cams just as long as its tuned well, but YOU WONT BE tECHNICLLY smog legal

I guess I should have clarified what I meant by smog legal. As long as the car passes the test I don't care what is in it. All I care about is the numbers it prints out when the test the car and if I am under the limits.

The thing that sucks is that I moved to Texas from California and thought I got away from smog testing. Then just this year Denton county started smog testing.

i think that it is possible to get 200 out of a ITR and still be smog legal...i came pretty close with only ITR internals

Mods:
-Gsr shortblock with oversized ITR pistons
-ITR head milled 20 tho
-Toda Header
-AEB intake manifold
-ITR TB
-Apex-i N1 catback with testpipe
-Jun cam gears
-Home Depot Special CAI
-Hondata S100

when i extended my intake 10 inches i made 197/140 and can get that graph if anyone is interested

I think that if i would have made a pull open header then i would have hit 200 but then again that wouldnt be smog legal hahaha

Is it possible to use the Hondata ECU to make a program that will pass smog but maybe make less HP and then a sepearate program to make the 200 HP? That way when you go to get smogged you run the smog passing program and when you go to race you run the 200HP program.

Has anyone tried that?

Thanks,
John
