Default NASA-AZ @ Arroyo Seco, March 27-28. Who's making the trip?

Woods twisted my arm a little (very little) and I guess I'm going to be making the trip after all. I'm a little unclear about the registration since I don't see any race groups listed under the $299 price tag which includes hotel and dinner. Maybe they haven't finished getting all the info up yet.

Register here: https://www.nasaproracing.com/...d=119

Track info here: http://www.arroyosecoraceway.com/

This will be my first time to this track. Any pointers for those who have driven it before?

This event sounds like a blast. Who all is going to make it?

I'm pretty sure I'll be going to this one too. I'd love for there to be a race but getting to drive a new track is just as good to me. All I have to do is go out with Erik and that's usually plenty of racing for me
And the track looks awesome! It looks like they use the drag strip as the main straight just like FIR Main but with alot more turns than FIR.

We should get a caravan together in Phoenix and meet up with you Tucson people for the long drive... with walkie talkies

You guys need to make the trip down to California speedway, HC is this weekend, and there is no track like CS.

I'm in. Got that Friday off work approved today. I agree, it should be a blast!

I nominate Travis to set up the caravan details.

Wow, sounds like a lot of people are going...the hefty price tag and other work related things have come up...plus I can't afford to do 2 events in one month...so I'm either doing Streets of Willow or Arroyo...tough choice...but right now I might have to pass on Arroyo...

I put a post up on nasaforums.com too but wanted to hit you guys up here in case you don't check that one.

What do you Phoenix guys think about meeting up at Firebird, driving down to Tucson to meet those guys at SIR and then heading over to NM?

I saw your note. That's basically the reason I posted this in a few places since I figured we'd get a more diverse group at this event.

Anyway, I'll be at SIR at 2:00pm on Friday unless someone tells me otherwise.

Oh, so you're one of the 2 registered hpde drivers

I'm thinking we should meet at Firebird at about noon on Friday, putting us in Tucson by 1:30 or 2:00 to pick up Trav and whoever else, putting us in NM in Time for some dinner and some beers

Sound good, Justin?

Some good, some bad...overall an interesting weekend. I should have some pics up this evening.

As far as H4 was concerned, after out qualifying Danny by less than 0.05 seconds on Saturday and being out qualified by Danny by a similar margin on Sunday, he went on to take the Sunday win by what was no more than a car length after 4 lead changes. We're nothing if not evenly matched and we were pretty damn consistent over the weekend (making the same mistakes as well). But I beat him home

Big to Erik Woods for saving my weekend not once but twice after discovering that my ignition timing had mysteriously advanced 5 degrees and then later "reinstalling" my exhaust with safety wire.

Oh yea, and air dam V1.0 is pretty well history after exploring the New Mexico desert on Saturday. I'm not sure if a BFH will fix this one

Sorry you couldn't make it. I would say there was so much track time at this event that most people eventually said "damn, I don't feel like driving more..."

Here is the only picture worth posting from the ones I shot:

No pics of you and Danny mixing it up? That was great to watch that first day at PIR, until he blew up his head gasket.

yeah, that car is like a cockroach! 12 leaking valves and a blown head gasket and it still ran relatively well (at least for 15 or 20 minutes at a time )

Now with that huge Fluidyne and an oil cooler the size of many FMI I've seen, I don't think his water temps got any higher that 160 degrees all weekend!

Fun weekend though. THe track was very technical, we got to drive it in both directions, and I got to do my first standing start.

Unfortunately, I don't think anyone got out unscathed- problems galore
