Default Thinking About an ITR

Well right now I have a gsr with a b18c5 swap (engine + tranny) along with a few other mods and although I love it I've always wanted a real type-r. My friend's cousin is selling his 98 R. It has a lot of mileage on it (87k he thinks) and will sell it to me relatively cheap. I'm optimistic I can sell my car for around 10 (give or take) and get this car for a few more grand thrown on top. The only problem I am facing is next year I'm going upstate to school. I'm going near Buffalo and they get crazy amounts of snow and it would just be a shame to bring it up there with all the snow/salt/sand. Untill this came up I've been looking for a sporty/reliable/practical car to bring upstate. The only car I've seen really is a Subaru 2.5 rs (I want to spend less than 10k if possible so I have extra cash ) Do you guys think I should do this? Or would I just be suiciding a nice car for my arrogance? Also, can you guys recomend any sporty/somewhat practical cars to bring upstate? you guys seem to know a lot about other cars also thanks for any feedback

I like your idea of getting a used 2.5rs. With minor mods those cars are pretty nice and cant be stopped by snow. Integra's, like your car with snow tires, can handle most situations

Also going to school, parking the ITR would be a bitch r. IMO, get the 2.5rs.

yea although i love my integra and know it would hurt to sell it, it would hurt even more to drive it in the snow and see it ripped apart. Getting a stock ITR wouldn't be any better Have any ideas for practical cars besides the RS that would be somewhat practical/sporty?

don't worry too much about the snow, i go to college near rochester, its only really bad in january. plus most of what you need is on campus. when its bad enough that you can't drive, don't. believe me, when its real bad even 4 wheel drive doesn't help that much. don't sacrifice what you want for two months max of bad driving weather

Get the R and get the undercoating sprayed on it that protects your car from the salt and road crap. Driving in snow shouldn't really be much of a problem, you have to drive slow on college roads anyway just be careful. Also, like the other guy said it's only a few days outta the year when there will be snow on the roads, it gets cleared in a day or so. Don't let snow and college stop you from getting the car you want.
