a civic doesnt exactly have a loud horn or good sounding horn for that matter. i just wondering if anyone had any experiences with other horns. i was looking at the hella super tone horns.

 

Any horn from an other car will do.
Just visit the local junkyard.
It's not like 12 JDM volts will destroy a GM horn...

those GM horns are racest. You put JDM volts through their, it will self destruct.


You could also consider an air horn. One little peice of adivice that I can give you if you go this route, put some kind of screen over the horns so you don't suck up any dirt. I have heard of many complain that after a few months, that there horns sound like ducks because of dirt getting into them. On a miata site, someone put some pantihose over the horns and had been running them for over a year, with no problems

 

who uses a horn anyways. get one of those redneck ones that plays songs.

 

I had air horns, they sound like crap. They
wernt broken either, just not very loud.

Before I crashed my car, I had these
mitsuba electric horns. Loud as it gets.
Took them off of a jdm prelude clip.

you minght just try to get another stock
civic horn and hook them both up.

i know someone who tried hooking a old caprice horn to his crx and he kept blowing fuses..so u have to replace the fuse with a higher amperage fuse? or what?

 

just use your middle finger and yell out the window. sometimes I'll just rev my engine instead of honking, scares the **** out of some people.

I wouldnt just replace the fuse, minght overload the
wire and then thats just another mess, risk of
fires and such. Im sure you could get away with
it as long as you dont use a fuse thats bigger then
anything honda used. But I would just run new
wires to the horn and run a bigger in line fuse,
but then again, my wiring sucked ***, so take
it for what its worth.

our horns are....umm cute...or pathetic is more like it
they sound like fisher price specials
but i'm too lazy to replace mine with anything, and i don't really use it much anyway.

Hellas here. Had them on 2 diff cars. They are fine as long as you mount them facing down.

 

how would you go about putting a horn from, say a older chevorlet caprice on without blowing fuses?

 

Do the air horns sound like a cop's squad car? I had a cop honk at me once with that big tugboat sounding horn. I think I might've cut him off while he had his top lights on speeding thru traffic.

 

My friend Brad ( fatbradster) didnt like the horn on his R. So he hooked a air horn set that he bought from pep boys, coolest hor i ever herd.
