90-91 CRX Si seat into a 88-89 CRX HF, DONE EASY
Noob here, I picked up a set of 90-91 CRX SI seats thinking that all CRX seats would be the same. They're not. First I tried swapping the tracks from my 89 CRX HF onto the 90-91 SI seats. That didn't work so I drilled new holes in my tracks. Now the tracks fit the seats but the tracks only lined up with 3 holes in the car and the forward and back lever was hitting the bottom of the seat making it hard to use.
Solution: It took me 2 hrs and a little bit of blood but I swapped the pans for the bottom of the seats. They weren't exactly the same but they work fine. Take the tracks off both seats. Unbolt the recline lever and undo the hinge bolt on the opposite side. Take the backrest off the bottom half. Take the little C clips out of the seat material. The trick is to only open them enough to get them off the metal pan. I used a straight screw driver and a needle nose pliers. Once all the clips are undone pull the seat material off the matal pan enough that the pan can come out. You'll want to try to remove the material all the way off the seat but don't. Once the metal pan is exposed most of the way around pull the pan off of the foam. It's glued on. Now do the same to your original seat. Transplant the metal pan onto your new seat and stuff it back into the foam. Now pull your material down to meet the pan and pinch the rings closed around the new pan. I had to punch 3 new holes in my 90-91 Si material so that it would match up with my 89 HF pans. I used a center punch but an ice pick would work too. Bolt the seats back together and there it is. I didn't glue the foam to the new pan but you might want to. The seats bolt right in now and the forward-back lever fits nice under the seat.
I don't have any pics but as soon as you roll both seats over you'll see how to do it. Don't get scared either, it was super easy.
The only other thing I can think to add is, the tracks on the 90-91 SI seats had a wire that went from one track to the other. My 89 HF seats didn't. If you're buying seats and you don't know what year they are this might help.

Try not to sound so pissy dude.
If you read my post you'd know I re-used my original lower seat pans and rails. I've never seen your DX stuff but I would guess you could follow my directions. Have you tried swapping the pans? It looks hard but like I said its not.
