I am considering throwing some nitrous on my b18c hatch, and was wondering how big of a wet shot my jdm b18c could handle without going boom?? I am thinking I could be safe with a 50 shot, and others are saying 75, and some say 35, so I thought I'd ask the experts on H-T.
BTW, I searched and got 12 topics that told me nothing.

 

i would say 65 shot to keep it safe just make sure have fuel to back it up and a clucth

 

You can go up to about 75 but you'll have to knock your timing back a couple degrees. I would suggest starting out with the smallest shot for the kit at first and make sure everything is right and work your way up. I would also suggest whenever you increase your shot to do it on the dyno with a wideband o2 senor to make sure your a/f ratio is correct. Definitely upgrade your clutch and an ignition wouldn't hurt either, especially if you're going to run bigger than a 50 shot but it's not absolutely necessary. I would recommend the msd digital sci plus or equivalent with spark plugs (ngk) one heat range colder. The 6al is the same thing except for the adjustable stage of ignition retard for nitrous so you're not down on power from retarded timing when your running off the bottle (most of the time (hopefully)). A nitrous and fuel pressure gauge would be beneficial as well.

 

ill tell u from experience, u can spray 100 shot, on stock gsr with a good clutch. just retard the timing , ill admit after awhile 100 shot it will go boom cause mine did but i sprayed about 10 times a week for 7 months.

anything higher then that you should go DP.
