My friend was driving home the other day when his car ('91 H/B) just died on him. It was getting NO spark at all. We towed it home and began to go through it. It's not even sparking when we test the wires on bare metal. WTF? What would cause a car to compleytly loose all ability to spark?

 

Coil or ignitor, what condition is the internals of the distributor like?

 

Coil, ignitor cap, rotor, replace those parts with working ones to figure out whats up with it, then go buy the part that died on you. Most lilkely an ignitor.

im gonna have to go with coil, when those go out there wont be any spark... most likely with anything else you will get erratic(SP?) spark. just get a new dizzy and you sould be set.

 

check the timing belt if it ripped. check to see if the distributor rotor turns when you crank the motor

 

i have the distributor if u want to buy it, the same thing happened to my old crx and it was the insides of the distributor, but if u need it then 45 can take it
