i was driving home from a school function, and when i was just about to leave the campus, i heard this really loud pop...i swear it sounded like a balloon popping...it has happened before, but not as loud as this...happen to anyone here?? anyone know whats wrong? thanks in advance

The only thing like that I have heard is when I turn off the car it seems to exhale. Also about a week after I put the cat back on I was coming down a hill in gear but off throtle and it sounded like a gun went off inside my head, I mean this was loud, I had the music blasting and could hardly hear it for a couple minutes.

 

any clue as to what it is?

 

did the car stutter? a backfire?

 

no change in performance or anything, just this really loud popping noise...just to make sure, i redlined it in first, and still was able to hear the melodious roar of the intake
