options for a grinding ys1 trans
I have a third gear grind when I am shifting in high rpm's, what are my options for rebuilding? I hear cable trans parts are hard to get. I don't want to convert to a hydro unless it is my only option. The car is a 90 crx with a B16.

Not at all. The YS1 internals are the same as newer hydro internals. Everything should be easily obtainable from Honda. Just look up parts for a 92-93 integra (GSR if you have the GSR gearset, as there are differences).

Yes.

GSR will fit just fine. LS too.

Probably the easiest. Just bear in mind that the YS1 stamp does not necessarily mean you have a GSR gearset. Most YS1s are LS gearsets. Get the parts for the right gearset, especially if you've got 3rd gear problems - your shift fork will need to match the synchro sleeve.
Yes.

so swap in a hydro gearset and add a type-r final drive, lsd and I would be good as new. very nice... where is the best place to buy these parts? I have never had to do anything to a trans other than a clutch and lsd.

You'll need to do a little grinding to get enough clearance for the GSR/ITR diff carrier if you do swap the internals. Try this site

for some decent prices on parts. Or try Len on H-T or Bert-O on EF1.
