1st post....and a warranty question?
Hey guys....I just came across this website and thought it looked like a good place for my question, although I don't know if it should be in the Civic section, but oh well.....
I'm almost positive that I'm going to buy a new 2004 Civic EX. I have a question about the warranty though. I'm about 60 miles away from the closest Honda dealer. If I need any warranty work done, will I be allowed to take my car to a local auto shop of Honda's choice to have work done? Or does it have to go to a dealer for work?
This is really the main thing I'm worried about right now. I really don't want a Chevy or Ford, but that's the only dealers I have in my town.
Also, are there any issues with the '04 Civics that I should know about?
Thanks in advance for any help.

check with the shop. Some shops are certified to do warrenty work, however, most of the time, people just go with honda. Best part about honda is, when you go with them, they use OEM parts. OEM honda parts are probally if not the best thing you can put on your car for reliability and quality.
i think you will have to bring it to the dealer to get any warranty things done. also the only problem with a 2004 civic is that it is *** ugly
