Default spun bearing??

ok well usually wen i put the car in a higher gear like 4th goin really slow i can hear a rattling noise like something onside of the motor.....this goes away if i put it in like 2nd gear and speed up.....burns some but little oil,is that a spun bearing?
today the car was normal but then i had taken it up a few times and as i took it up the last time i brought down the rpms at a stop light and it shook violently and then wen i pushed the gas it went but had vibration and sounded like a wrx but i didnt hear alot of noise that indicated bearings......went home and let it idle at 3k and it was kickin out smoke??....wat could cause this???

If you had a spun bearing, at idle you would have a rythmatic knocking sound. If there is oil burn off that you are having when you accelerate it sounds like to have
bad rings. No matter how you look at it its going to be a heavyline repair.

have a CLT (cylinder leakdown test) performed. that will tell you if there is any problems related to rings, valves, etc

as for bearings, the only way to test those (its a shady way at best) is an oil pressure test. a helms will have the specific numbers your pump should be putting out. if its LOWER you could have a spun bearing (passageway has less restriction so pressure goes down)

even so thats a 25% chance it will show any real problems. the best way is to drop the pan and crank journal covers and plastigauge.

here's one thing to check...when your motor is cold does it idle low like it's going to stall out? and does it stall out? mine was doing this and i drained the oil. if you spun a bearing you'll see it when you pull the oil pan down. yeah sounds like you spun a bearing though. was also making the rattling/friction/detonation sound...low oil pressure and low oil probs.

sounds like detonation/preignition and some worn rings to me. How old is the engine?
