Why would you spend that much and not get an exhaust???

B/C it isn't listed in your list, or do you already have it on the vehicle.

Buy a set of Azenis tire, only 400.00

I just spent 6k two weeks ago on
1) Tein SS with EDFC ($1,600)
2) Mugen radiator cap and two Mugen reservoir covers ($56)
3) Two Takata Race Harness's ($690)
4) JDM Headlights ($460)
5) c/f Type-R wing and OEM VIS c/f hood ($755)
6) 17 inch Volk Racing TE37's with Yokohama Prada 2 tires ($2,176)
7) Labor for Tein SS with EDFC install (because i know jack **** about wiring $160)

Total=$5,897 not including taxes

I also still have to purchase Hondata, shift light, revo ss and pedals
Oh and i also have to pay to paint my hood and wing.
Hope this helps out a bit. I am bored at work with nothin better to do

....I just can't see justifying spending $6000 in mods, maybe this is a sign of me getting older . With a Type S costing what about $23,000 plus I'm thinking add $6000 and you are in the 350z, Evo, WRX, and way into RX-8 territory. Better platforms, IMHO, and you start off with more horespower than you may possible get from Type S plus mods......and still retain your warranty .................getting older sucks.

If I were you... I would get some tires, suspension work, I/H/E, Hondata and save the rest for something else... 6000 is a lot to just dump into your car at once.

Sell your Acura and buy an EVO. You'll smoke every stock and modded Type-S that you'll ever run across with a bone-stock EVO8. That being said, I'd enjoy your current car and just save the $$.

Buy the icy hot Mugen kit and get it painted...that should about blow all that money. And then you'll be fast...oh wait no...better handl...oh wait no...look bett...oh wait HELL no...

Maybe the Mugen kit isn't a good idea after all .

I'd definately get Tein SS coilovers for one (contact VTECvoodoo for cheap prices).
I'd get nicer tires (Discounttire.com).
I'd get a set of HIDs because the RSX puts out an incredible light pattern with the stock housing lights and HIDs.
I'd ditch the front and rear stock swaybars and invest in the JDM rear swaybar (ClubRSX.com).
I'd sell the stock seats and get some Corbeau CR1's because the stock leather ones are too slippery.

That should all run you about $2300. That'll make the car more fun to own and he can put the rest aside for a rainy day. If he wants a better intake, remove the stocker and put a K&N on the TB. If he wants an exhaust, look into the QTP cutout and keep the stock exhaust so it's quiet until he needs to show someone up. If he wants a header, he should hang a snail off it and plumb it to the IM .

Just my pleasant opinion.

mike sucks...don't listen to him...the mugen kit is awesome

anyways, i would listen to part of what he said...get the tein ss coilovers, better tires, hid's, front/rear sway bars and go for a turbo with the rest of the money...if you have the knowledge, you can build one for whats left over (lets see...$1k+400+400+300 (btw, these are high estimates) = 2100)

the rest is plenty to build your own stage 1 or you could even afford a greddy kit with leftover money(not sure if you can grab a cybernation for 3900)

or you could always go the nitrous route as i have and spend the rest on suspension, lsd, jdm kit, hid's

stock evo would only beat every mod type-s from a lanch because of the four wheel drive.... believe or not, i was driving my friends ep with k20a2 swap and hondata ecu, with i.h.e. me and my other friend that drive an evo line up going 25mph roll on 2nd gear and i killed that evo with intake..... i went up to about 100 and had 7-8 car space in front of him.... the evo was speechless, i love that feeling... he is not a bad driver, he runs 13.3s....

Absolutely nothing is wrong with the stock swaybars except:

1.) a front one exists...this tightens up steering and helps keep the drive wheels on the ground slightly, but it promotes even more FWD understeer.
2.) the USDM rear one is too small...but the JDM one is slightly bigger, hence my suggestions.

When you buy your new mods maybe try buying them one at a time. what i mean is buy a mod, install it, drive the car for a few weeks, then when you get kinda bored buy something else. Maybe spreading out your purchases like that will be more fun than buying a bunch of stuff and having it all installed at the same time. just doing some thinking here

-Front Strut Bar ($120)
-Front X-Brace ($140)
-Rear Upper Strut Bar(mugen style) ($80+)
-Rear Upper Tower Shock Bar(spoon style) ($100+)
-Hotchkis Sway bars with maybe a Progress rear tie bar($500)
-Hotchkis Endlinks ($130)
-Rear Camber Kit(If needed) ($90)
-Short shifter ($90)
-Full Replacement Coilovers ($650+)
-Better Tires ($320+)
-ES Motor Mount Inserts ($30)
-Clutch/Flywheel ($610+)
-New Brake Pads/Rotors ($180+)
-SS Braided Brake lines ($90+)

~$3100+ not including Install (Learn to do it yourself)

Then figure out whatever you want to do with the rest of the money, whether you want to go N/A or FI or if you just want to dump all your money into exterior/audio.

greddy turbo kit 2295
greddy intercooler kit 695
greddy type s bov 175
oem dc5r lsd 425
act 6 puck 375
es motor mounts 30
skunk2 springs 180
g force drag rads 200
3 gallons 110 race gas 18
10lbs boost. price included w/ greddy kit

grand total of 4393... that still leaves few bucks to upgrade the shocks and do a little to the exterior.... i my self prefer to leave stock looking with the exception of JDM badges all the way around, black housing headlights, oem spoiler, & unpainted greddy front lip.. by the way my car is silver

the look on their faces when you click off 12.9 @ 104-106 ish (depending on elevation and track conditions) PRICELESS

that just me though... im a drag junky.. to each their own.. do what you want to do...
