T minus 9 hours until B16A swap starts........
Well, this day has FINALLY come. I bought my 91 Hatch about 1 month ago almost to the day. Put on maybe 3000km's and now I'm putting in a B16A.
This is my first Honda swap but I'm no Newb to cars.
Details:
-B16A from JDM Integra XSi, so 92-93 which from what I read on hmotorsonline.com has 170hp vs. 1st Gen B16A from Ef SiR which has 160hp. I also have the YS1 tranny but no LSD.
Here are some pics of what I have to put into the car etc with descriptions...enjoy and comment as you wish.
Here are the parts I have gather in the last 2 weeks, from back right to left: Solo short shifter with Solo shift ****, ES Poly shift bushings, new timing belt, exhaust manifold gasket, waterpump, flywheel bolts, plugs, oil filter, thermostat, plug bushings, Honda MTF, plug wires. **Next row left to right** Clutch alignment tool, pilot and throwout bearing, Exedy racing pressure plate, ACT Street Disk, Exedy 9.5 lbs Chromo flywheel **Next row right to left** Rear tie bar (was free), Apexi WS exhaust, Rad hoses.

DC Sports 4-2-1 Header with custom O2 bungs welded in each of the collectors like you are supposed to!

AZ Race and Machine Mounts

Those are the SWEETEST pieces of Machined Aluminum I have ever seen. They even come with the mounting hardware that is INDIVIDUALLY wrapped and color labbled for the corresponding mount it's used for...
Garage where I'll be doing the work

Engine..half apart still, and dirty

Help that I bought this week!
purchase of this BEAST was inevitable. I got the 7HP/60Gallon one since I am starting a side business and I want to use a Die grinder etc.

500ft. lbs impact, and a air rachet..lifetime warranty on these Husky Items..can't go wrong.

Lincoln Weld Pak 5000HD Wire Feed welder with Gas conversion kit(So it's a MIG now).

Sub Panel I put in the garage this week also, I needed 220V for the welder and same for the compressor, so I ran the FAT 6.3 underground rated feed cable from a 60amp breaker in the panel in the basement to this Sub panel where I wired the new 3x8ft. dual bulb fluorescent light fixtures, the welder, compressor, garage door opener and retractable trouble light.

And last but not least...my ECU and plug pin removal tool....it's a Cotter pin that's been straightened out and a pair of needle nose plyers..works like a charm.

I'll have more of an update tomorrow night on what I did during the day, and an actual shot of the car...wouldn't see much in the dark driveway.
Hope you all enjoy.

Just curious but how much did you ge the Husky comp for? I got the same deal, 7hp, 60gal, 220, belt driven...Mine was $400, and I got the 500lb impact for $80. Nice deal man, brings back memories of my ZC swap with all the pretty new parts, good luck man.

Alright. it's been about 14 hours now since I last posted. Things went VERY smoothly today..well, a couple hick ups but that's ok.
By the time I got the rest of the wiring done for the garage, and getting the right adapters etc. for the compressor, I didn't start working on the engine untill noon. I then replaced the water pump and timing belt..EASIEST THING EVER especially when it's out of the car. Then I put on the new flywheel/clutch using the new flywheel bolts I bought. Then I drove the car in, listened to the old D15 one last time, and shut her off, took the hood off the car, put blocks under the rear wheels and jacked up the front and put it on Jack stands.
I then drained the oil, took the undershielding off and drained the rad. Removed the rad, the fan, and just proceeded to remove everything that needed removal as far as wires/vacume lines/heater hosed/cables go.
Then came the axle removal. Do the drivers side first, with the impact the nut on the axle comes off no problem. We go to the drivers side...no worky with the impact. So then my buddy for my 1/2 inch ratchet, put the 32mm socket on there, and used a big pipe to drive to get it loose, I was in the car stepping on the brakes. Obviously this didn't work and we broke the rachet. So we went to Canadian Tire and got a free replacement one (got to love lifetime warranty). Then went to Princess Auto and got myself a HUGE 3/4 inch drive breaker bar with a 3/4 inch drive 32mm socket...I figured if I couldn't get it off with this...we were DOOMED. So we get back home, try it with just the breaker bar..no dice, so he gets the 5 foot pipe, puts it on, it turned..oh wait, that was just the brakes not holding up.
So then I just put both feet on the brake pedal, pushed like a bastard, and he tried again..this time, it worked..DAMN we were happy. Good thing for 3/4 inch drive!!
After that we just undid the exhaust, the shift linkages etc. and pulled the motor out. I then removed the wiring harness from the old motor without breaking a plug and set it aside.
Looked at the empty engine bay and almost puked from the dirtyness. So I used some simple green, elbow grease and a hose and cleaned it as best I could. turned out ok. ESPECIALLY for a car that has 320000KM's on it. You couldn't tell by the shape of the engine bay.
MMMM Dinner.
After Dinner I started on the wiring. Used a set of instructions that I had found on someones website, the ones where you didn't have to cut and splice. Instead I repinned the plugs using my handy dandy pin remover tool that you saw in my first post. First I had to make the changes and run the 4 wires to change the car to MPFI, and then added the wires for Vtec/knock/O2 and ran these into the engine bay where the factory harness plugs are. I soldered and heat shrinked all of the wires to make sure it wouldn't budge. I then used a 9 pin plug I got at the wreckers from some Honda and soldered/heat shrinked the 8 added wires to the female end of the plug then I wire loomed and taped it all. Looks factory except a little more shiny.
That's it for tonight. Tomorrow I finish the wiring, bolt in the mounts, drop the engine, custom weld the linkages, hook up the exhaust, put rad/etc. back on and enjoy VTEC! Oh..wait..I have to break in the clutch first... BOOOOOO!!!!

Air tools..BEST investment EVAR!!

MMMMMMMM, Clean engine bay

New Plug right beside factory plug

Wiring at the ECU..still need to finish "looming" and taping here

Shiny pressure plate and bling bling flywheel

LIFE SAVING 3/4 inch breaker bar and socket

Old POS D15..May she Rest in Peace.

Bed time now! Can't wait till this time tomorrow night!

Even if the motor is from a 92-93 integra, it's still OBD0 for some reason. It's got the white plug Distributor, the 2 single wire O2 sensors etc. Not sure, maybe they just did this on the Integra.
