You get much more respect towards your car if you do things the right way... plus if someone buys your car later down the road and wants to change the HU it makes it easier on them.... i had somebody cut my wires on my HU and it was a pain in the *** to change it

yea i know. i got one last nite and installed it. only problem now is i talked a guy at sony and he said i wouldn't need anything to mount it , it would just sit in the same place as the stock one, yet it doesn't so its just kinda siting there for now. i guess i gotta go to best buy tomarrow and see what i need.

You have to use the can "metal sleeve" that came with the head unit and put that in first, bend the metal tabs so that it stays in place, then you can slide that head into the can and the head will lock into the can. Make sure that when you wire your head units harness to the harness that you get from best buy ( should be a metra 70-1720) solder all your connetions and use heat shrink tubing as well. Then after all connets are made use zip ties to keep the harness clean and neat. Make sure that any wires not used on both the head units harness and the adpting harness are protected with heat shrink.
hope this helps
