turbo-ing my JDM F22B prelude
Hello! new user here, been lookin through the posts becuase I want to turbo my JDM f22B (DOHC non VTEC) Engine.
Ive seen a couple of people mentioning what manifolds will fit and the like, but i would really like to know...
I only want to boost 4-5psi (mainly for insurance reasons, im quite young) and I need to know exactly what I need to gain a turbo powered lude
I read somewhere that a manifold fits my car? which one is this?
Any recommendations on the size of the turbo?
What else do I need? and how easy is it all to fit!

Well i'm pretty sure a h23 kit will fit, I have a F22b right now too, and I am using a h23a header. As far as what turbo to go for search up some h23 kits, usually those are good, and give decent power.
Thanks
I have been recommended the Prelude Extreme Turbo Kit

this good?

fmax is an ok kit from what ive seen and heard...the fuel setup is a joke. that price is way to high...hang out in the fi forum for awhile(months not days), you'll learn what you need and find great deals also.
nice to know theres other f22b engines out there b/c i have one too. Due to the lower compression, i wonder whats the gains in a f22b and h23 considering same environment, conditions, etc etc...
PS: I will turbo this motor this year!

Well we are talking about f22B Dohc right?, this seems to be a h22 dyno plot looking at that dip and jump in the power band at 4700 rpm. That is a pretty big dip, they should probably tune it more, stock not sure i'm not a turbo guru to tell that from a dyno plot, but i'm pretty sure its not a f22b Dohc plot, nor a h23.

If you want to go the super cheap route, you can do the DSM thing and just redrill the flange on the manifold to fit. Ports bolt right up, and the setups are a dime a dozen used (well, figuratively compared to Greddy or HKS or FMAX). I think that you will need to cut off the mount for the snail and weld it back on in the other direction if you want to keep your PS, and if you can't do it yourself, it is a cheap mod at any shop with a half decent welder. If you are only running 4-5lbs boost, this may be a feasible option for you.
Good luck, and post your results.
