USDM ITR gearing the same as SC4 Si tranny?
Okay first, yes, I searched... for like two hours. There's alot of talk from people about upgrading from a gsr tranny to a USDM type r tranny, which looking at the numbers that I found here:
http://www.bseries.net/html/specs/btrannyspecs.php
would be an upgrade b/c of the 2nd and 3rd gear shortening. But, if you "upgraded" from an SC4 to anything but the JDM ITR tranny, you're not shortening the gears at all (I do realize that you gain a LSD in the process). I'm about to drop some serious $$$ on a tranny, and just want to make sure my facts are straight before I go throwing my money around. If I am buying a USDM ITR tranny, its not really worth it, it seems. Note that the source for the above link has a disclaimer about the content... I thought that somebody in the ITR forum would be able to confirm for certain.
Also, anybody have the JDM ITR tranny (4.785 final drive)? What RPMs are you turning at highway speeds?
Thanks, guys.

i think that the addition of an lsd alone makes the itr tranny more worth it than an SI one. But yeah...if you're going to shell the cash out, might as well get the jdm 4.78 tranny. Remember that the 96 spec jdm tranny is the same as the usdm 4.4
I'm not sure of the freeway speeds, but I would assume it's around 4500-5000 in fifth going 75-80. Still very streetable.
