It is a 94 prelude si, newly painted, automatic, 140,000 miles. The dealer is asking $5,200, but already said he'd go down to $4800. Is this a decent deal?

Make sure they have records of the timing belt & water pump being replaced....

 

Are the timing belts a big problem on these? I have dealt with that on a car before, and would rather not do it again.

Define problem. If you change them when you're supposed to it's not a problem. If you don't they will snap eventually.

 

CSTMGP If you where to get it what would your plans be for it?

 

It would be a daily driver. I am selling my 3/4 ton chevy truck, and opting for something with a little better gas milage, yet fun to drive. I prolly wouldn't be doing many performance mods, just some appearance, as I already have a toy.

i got my 94 Si 4ws for 3800, it has 175k on it, still runs great. the car is awesome to drive. just ask yourself if you're willing to pay that much for what youre getting. 4800 still seems a little high, i'd try and talk him down a bit

 

taht does sound a little high, I paid 8k for a 94 with a 95 vtec motor. taht was four years ago

 

in october, i bought my 92 Si 4WS with 56k mi on it for $5600 after negoiating from 6k. Thisi was an Acura dealer.

 

i just got my 92 si 4ws for $850 it needed a motor but i got an JDM F22B for $625 and now the car runs perfect
