Default Need to know why my car idles the way it does.

This problem started after i put a new skunk 2 intake manifold and a 65 mm edelbrook throttle body on my b16a. Here goes, when i first start up the car (cold), it idles at 1.5 and raises to 2 and stays there. With the car still sitting there(about 2 mins), i turn the car off and back on. It now idles around 1.4 and stays there. After another minute of sitting there, i turn it off and back on again and now idles at 1 and stays at 1. The reason why i do this whole "off and on" thing is becasue i notice that what ever idle number i start to drive with, it will all ways idle at that number and nothing lower. Not untill i trun the car off and on will it idle any lower. So if i start with 2, it not idle any lower then 2.

With all that said. What the heck is up with my car? Do i have a bad sensor or something? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

You may have a bad tps or you may need to adjust the idle screw....I would think its that tps since once you turn the car on and off and lowers a bit. Did the new TB come with its own TPS or you reused the old one?

Yes the new TB came with a TPS. Could it be a temp sensor that is bad?

Was the new TB brand new or came off a car. I would look into the sensor. If the car is not getting up to tempature then it could be a temp sensor.

The TPS sensor is new. What sensor would be that is making my car idle the way it is?

if the tps is new you may want to check to make sure it is the correct one. it should read 0.45v closed, you may want to check you idle air control valve (solenoid on the back of your intake manifold. it controls how much air bypasses your throttle plate.

I think by turning it off and back on again, it is reseting something and is getting a new reading to make the car idle lower. I just dont know what to do about this. Please help
