Default Aftermath of Misshifting

Okay now, please be patient since this is my first time trying to post pics here(or ever really). Here's what happened to my engine after I screwed up on a downshift.

Engine in Garage

The Baaaaddddd Intake Side

Second Look of the Same

Exhaust Side

Tiny Hole from Cylinder #1

What Seems to be Missing here?

So basically right now I'm trying to take it apart and sell what I can. I've already had some responses for the head, but I have the intake manifold and exhaust manifold up for grabs. Don't screw up like me. Have fun and just watch your shifting.

Nope, had to come out of pocket, I've already put another engine in, but it wasn't quite how I was planning on spending about $5K on the car.

well when i first checked your links...it took me to your album then i went to each pic...
clicked each one
new window popped up...
right click on pic.
properties..
copy link

put between image tags..thats the super l337 hax0r way though..you couldve just uploaded a diff. format of the image...i think that might have been the problem as imagestation wants me to download the image...

It was a 4-1 misshift at about 45-50mph, just a little out of 1st gears' range.

Sorry to see that man, Put a Short Shift adapter in it with a MOMO or SPARCO **** and you'll never do it again...It makes it so tight and close...

How many miles are on it?

Ouch, it's funny how a little mistake can cost you so much money. Well lesson learned thou, hope you care for your next engine a lot better.
Good luck.

Thank you f1nal zeros, and I have the exact same opinion HybridHatch88. Clicky Pow, well as far as my modding plans, they've been set back a bit, but I'm waiting to check out the Skunk2 shifter when it comes out(had one on my GSR and absolutely loved it). I'm probably going to be working on the smaller mods for awhile, which really sucks b/c I was planning on putting on the Tein Flex this spring.

4-1 at 45mph? So I assume you were trying to hit third gear and simply missed? That's highly unfortunate, but I'm glad you take responsibility for your mistake unlike a lot of the tools who grenade their K's with misshifting.

Hey im curious how you got it into 1st gear doing 45mph? Don't RSX's have a lockout on first gear after you get to a certain speed?

Yeah, I don't understand how it allows you to enter into 1st gear. What about the syncs?

The synchros are in good shape actually, I'm reusing the tranny and haven't run into any problems with it at all, I'm quite surprised with that.

You still didn't answer me about the lockout does it have one on first gear. I guess it's safe to assume rsx's have the lockout. I don't know how you got it into first you musta really slammed it in there.
