Default driving home and got tboned DAMNIT!!!

i just got thru doing the body work on the car, was scheduled to get it painted this weekend...

quarter panel is toast, rim/tire is toast, rear bumper and support need replacing... i just put in the z6 motor, along with the AC. The estimate for repair exceeds the value according to the appraiser so most likey theyll total it it doesnt look too bad in the pics, but the quarter panel is resting on ym rear seat...

heres what happened: i was in the right lane on the interstate, a geo tracker was entering the interstate(onramp) she lost control (fish tailed) to the right, swung back around, crossed lanes, then t boned me causing me to spin like crazy (thank god for autocrossing experience, otherwise i would have hit the guard rail head on ) (it was raining)The cop stated my skid sideways was about the length of a football field anyway, nobody was hurt except for my hatch. ill find out whats to happen with the hatch on monday...this sux

cut out and replace the quarter panel and replace the rear bumper support/bumper cover and it will be good as new.

it looks like no hardcore structural damage happened, hell the window didint even break.

thats a write off...the wrote mine off with less damage than that, insurance gave me 1800bucks and the car...I drove it for 4months until they wanted me to saftey it again...then I parted it out and got a new one with the 1800 they gave me plus the $800+ I got from parting out the car...and I only paid $1800 for it in the first place...I did good on that deal

good that ur alright, too bad the car is a goner!

when they told me they were only gonna give me 1800 for the car I reamed them out on the phone...I told him it was an new ZC motor he told me "no its not" I freaked on him...as you would take it I was hella pissed, so I hung up on him and didnt call him back for over a week and then he told me "we'll give you 1800 and the car"...I thought for a sec, and accepted it, drove down there in my "written off car" picked up the cheque...drove home, and continued to drive it for 3 more months until they wanted it re-saftied, thats when I parted it out and made another $800+ off of it and I still have parts

if you dont like what they offer you let them know, cuz you are the one that pays the money every month to be covered and its not your fault somebody was careless and hit you...ream em out if ya gotta!

yes i did. It was blamed on me as i made a "unsafe" turn. At the time it was a 91 red DX with 110 000km they gave be $5500 because i bitched and said i couldnt replace it fir the price they quoted.

mine ended up way better in the end as i got my car restored from the ground up!

Cheers
Greg

ps Good luck. nice to hear no one was hurt
