Is this the right LMA????
Ok, so after doing many valves adj. I decided just to replace my LMA's and hopefully that will be the end of it, but comparing the ITR LMA along with other pictures and what I've picked up from Honda, it looks totally different. I've always thought that the LMA is a cylinder with a spring inside and a head on the spring, not just a spring with a head? Are the B-series LMA's just a different setup than the preludes?
I picked up the cheaper 2000 prelude LMA's, $6 each vs. the 94, the year engine I have, prelude VTEC's which ran $30 each.
Here is two pics comparing them both:

Hmmm, maybe so, but I don't see why Honda would just offer the spring for sale, rather than having the cylinder and the head along with the spring? I just hope I don't tear apart my valvetrain just to find that these aren't right. Thanks for the reply
You're wrong. You have improper LMAs bought (if you have pre 99 Lude). Early H22 had the same LMAs like in B-series (I have those ones from ITR in my engine for 2 years and they work great).
The wierd thing is though, that ITR owners are putting theses specific lma's in their engines, same part no. and everything, but it just doesn't make sense.

Did a little bit more searching and found this:
A teardown of a ITR or GSR LMA

So thanks for all your guys' help, but I think I'm good now, I'll just obviously use the same cylinder and head for the LMA assembly.
And I think that might actually be the reason the '94 H22A LMA's are like 4 times as much as the '00 H22A1 LMA's, maybe the 94's come with the cylinder and head, and the 00's don't? hmmm

Not really, I'm not installing ITR LMA's. I'm using the 00 Base Prelude LMA's, which are the same specs as the 93-96. Only when using the ITR's do you use the washer.
Well,i never used the itr's before, but i do know,if your gonna use those prelude ones, your gonna need some kind of spacer on the bottom.if you install as is,your vtec lobe will just flop around because the prelude lma will not be able to control it.i had bought a set of the 2000 sh prelude lma's incase i was gonna need them, and i compared them to a earlier prelude vtec one, which is the same as the b16 ones. They are shorter by .04 ".But the contach pad is much wider which is one of the reasons behind getting the gsr,itr lma's in the first place.

Well I was severly mistaken and now my head sounds like a freakin rattlesnake. So now I have to spend 5-6 MORE hours takin apart my head again. Sorry to have not taken you seriously.
I'll take a trip to the local ace hardware tomorrow and pick up some 0.04" shims/washers, along with a micrometer to compare the two.
You said that It's preferable to have the ITR/GSR LMA's because of the contact patch? Why? Is it better to have a smaller contact patch?
Thanks man, ttyl.

read the thread. they aren't the same.

So, just for an update, ordered some new LMA's, $$$, but worth it. When I first saw the replacement for the 94 H22A, I was suprised to see that it was the same part number as the GSR. And actually, the old lma's i took out of my head resembled B16A lmas, wtf???
Here's some pics to compare the '00 H22A1 LMA's, the old lma's (what look like B16A lma's), and the 94 H22A LMA (GSR).

Here's a pic comparing a GSR to a B16A, what mine looks like.
The only difference between the two is the head and the bottom, the head of the GSR is 0.4 mm larger than the B16A.
