Default Test pipe noise

I recently got a test pipe for my car understanding that it would make my exhaust louder. I was fine with some extra noise, but little did I know it didn't increase the volume of my current exhaust(Greddy Evo, DC Header) which I liked but rather created the "buzzing bee" noise that I hated to hear on other cars. Then I went to the track and found that the test pipe took .2 seconds off my E.T. which makes me happy.

So here are my questions:
1) Do your test pipes make this buzzing noise?
2) If I got a CATCO high-flow cat will it get rid of the buzzing noise while keeping performance?

I would love to keep the test pipe because of the performance but I am getting real tired of the buzzing. What to do what to do?

you cant have the best of both worlds, the best solution other than a high flow cat is a RESONATED test pipe. what i did myself was use a dynomax "bullet" muffler as a test pipe. its basically a resonator,i bought the 16" version w/ 2.5" inlet/outlets. sound waaay better than a est pipe yet gives me high flow. look in a summit catolog and look for "dynomax bullet muffler" if you need a pic oran idea what it looks like go to http://www.google.com and search for dynomax bullet muffler and youll find plenty of pics.

Are some set ups you will get a buzzing/swooshing noise from the mismatch of IDs at the B pipe flange.

yah, a resonated testpipe avoids the buzzing bee problem.
I got a resonated testpipe and I love it. my other buddies with straight pipes are wimpy wussy and tinny at low rpms, and sound buzzy hig up too.

I got a regular 2.5" straight pipe and it made my Apexi WS louder, but not buzzy at all.

Mine was bussy as hell after the test pipe..but with the new ES muffler its not anymore. So I think it has to do with the muffler also and how well it "muffles" the sound.

SMSP- I didn't even think about that. The test pipe is a resonated 2.5" ID test pipe connected to an LS DC header and LS Greddy Evo exhaust. So that may be the cause of my buzzing.

P.S. I got the 2.5" because I was planning on possibly getting a JDM header in the future and just "re-flanging" the test pipe.
