Default CEL #71 and #72

Hi all, getting this CEL (71 & 72) with my new ECU, anyone know what it is? It's not in my Helm's. Program is based on a JDM ITR w/OBD II removed. Took a couple of days to show up. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Its in the 96+ helm because its an OBD2 code.

Misfire cylinders 1 and 2

Apparently, you have a USDM program.

FYI, my stock ECU picks up 71-74 all the time. Nothing is wrong, my guess is it
has something to do with the slight lope of the cams throwing off crank/cam timing.
The misfire code is a result of a discrepency between a sensor in the distributor(CYP i think)
and the CFK sensor.

I ignore it.
Doesnt cause me any problems. I get 71 through 74 though. Its consistent,
so I dont sweat it.

Just re-checked CEL
It's # 71, 72, and 73. Surprising #74 isn't showing up. All the plugs look good.

Thanks for the help Steve

Car runs nice and strong. No issues except for the damn CEL. Maybe I should cover it up with some tape j/k

Glad to know I'm not the only one with this code.

I got that code...ring lands broken on 3 of 4 cylinders. Car ran like **** though, so it's not like I didn't expect a code.

Sgt, does your car go into limp? Or do you just drive with the CEL on and codes flashing? Just curious, cuz I'm thinking of running Toda B's and stock ECU. So I wanted to know if thats something to expect.

with the 71-74 codes, car will run just fine, (no limp) the ecu sees a larger pulse delta between the CFK and TDC, than with stock cams thus, throws the code.

So that is why I get that code...

I have a Yoshio ECU with spec b's.... I never thought it was so bad, but it is interesting to hear why it may be happening.

Thanx guys.
