2002 Headlight Housing

2002 Headlight Housing
Not sure if this a new thing- but I drove my friend's 2000 Accord EX I-4 for a while and didn't notice this. But on my 2002 Accord V6 EX- the headlights are all separated, where as on my friend's car it was all together. Please tell me if this a new thing or just a V6 thing. Separation means the high beam, low beam, and turn signal all have their own housing- vs. his Accord which all were stuck together in one housing. thanks
