Default B16 CRX CAI....

Well I've searched around the site, and I'm wondering what cai would fit without causing me to relocate my battery. I searched and I found all sorts of different answers from a civic cai, a itr, del sol, and civic si. I'm wondering which one will fit in without causing me to relocate my battery and with the last trouble.

I'm using the '91 Si AEM CAI on my B16a, fits fine and no need to relocate the battery.

I think you can also use a 99-00 Civic Si CAI without relocating the battery

Heres a question, how about those of us with a 65mm or bigger Throttle body. I have heard AEM is making CAI for hondas with swaps, but they are expensive.....

You can only get the intakes that are available by the mass.

What size piping is the 88-91 CRX Si intake? 2.25?

yup... the only intake that will really work w/o re-location of the battery is the one made for the 88-91 chassis...

all other intakes will either require relocating battery or getting a smaller battery.

But will the engine matter, does the b16 line up differently from the stock motor? Or does that not matter?

I sure did.

It was a 2 piece CAI for a 99-00 SI that I bought off Ebay. Fits perfect with the battery.

Yes you can I fit a 92-95 del sol intake onto my old crx with some extra tubing when I was dpfi.

After I converted to mpfi it bolted up perfectly. However take note it wont just fall in, I didnt have a battery tie down so I could move my battery over a few inches, as well as making the whole for the tube through the fender bigger.

It was a snug fit but it worked fine. It will take some modification......I suggest you make your own intake, why spend 200+ on a tube and filter, when you could spend a quarter of that and customize it to your own liking.......

We were talking about the 99-00 SI intake.

My buddy with a B16 was at a performance shop and they had a AEM 99-00 Si intake instock and they tried to fit it with his battery in the stock location, it would not fit.

^^^ I realize this but the del sol intake and 99-00 si intake are the exact same esp. if it is a del sol b16a2.

If its the d16z6 del sol then I think the piping is just a little smaller but same shape and configuration. I had this one. I had pictures but this was like 3 years ago and it would be impossible to find them now.

this is a 99-00 Si intake. the battery has to be moved, i dont care what anybody says. even in short ram form, the filter would be in the middle of the battery if the battery was there.

I agree with 91CivicDXdude.

The B16 and the D16 intake hookup spot are pretty much in the same place that is why you can use the Civic intake with the B series and the D series. If engine placement was alot different the piping wouldnt fit.

My friend with his B16 swap in a CRX was at a place trying to get one of the civic ones to fit. I dont know what you did to your intake but wouldnt not fit. Maybe you dented the **** outa it to clear the battery or something.. I dont know.

Just relocate your battery! Its so easy and it cleans up your engine bay alot!

YES you can.... BUT you will have to slightly tilt the battery at an angle if you don't want to mess up the piping from constanly rubbing.

just make your life simple and get a CAI off ebay for the EF
