I did a search and read that a d16z6 head on d15b1 block would run like crap with stock hf ecu, but how about a d16a6 head on the d15b1 block, would I still need to swap ecu's. I am not looking for high performance but daily drivability, this will be a temporary engine. I guess vtec is the only main difference. I'm almost positive I have bad valves in my d15 head. What would be easier? Replacing valves or swapping heads.

 

Z6 head, search for "mini-me" run a PM6 ecu from a Si and use a MSD RPM acivated swtich for VTEC

 

I dont have a vtec head, I have a d16a6, I was just saying that is what came up when I searched, I couldnt find anything about d16a6 on d15b1.

 

The A6 head will fit perfectly on the B2 block. In fact, the B2 and A6 heads are of the same casting.

 

Well I decided to just pull out the motor. Now my question is, will the HF(d15b1) ecu work for an Si(d16a6) motor
