OT: Package From Nissan
I bought my wife a 2000 Nissan Altima last year (silver). Today I received a large envelope from Nissan with some shwag (free stuff) and brochures trying to sell me on the newly designed Altima (it looks good and has a 3.5 liter 240-HP V6 engine).
The cool part was a coupon for a free Kenneth Cole messenger bag or Kenneth Cole watch for taking a test drive. I like the style of Kenneth Cole...
Pretty cool fre gift.

there was an altima 3.5 S i think was the designation in the mall today, it's a pretty damn big car. The tail end reminded me of a mercedes somehow, maybe the font they chose to letter the car with. it looks pretty nice, great silvery-champagne paintjob...but again, very big. I wonder what'll happen to the Maxima.
Funny. A few weeks ago my brother and I went to look at the new Maxima and Altima. He is yet another person (like many on this board) that are never happy with what he has. Anyway, the other day the mailman stops by and drops off this huge cylinder that is addressed to my brother. So he brings it into the house, but does not open it. Since there have been reports of people back on the east coast opening letters and having this white powder come out, he decides not to open it. He starts talking with my mom about the subject of terrorism and the whole anthrax episodes. So he throws it away. When I come home from work, I hear the story of how he got this huge package that is really light in weight. So I go out to the trash to look at it. On the label it says, "The stuff you ordered." A little further down it says, "Ingredients: 240hp V6." And a little further down it says, "Excitement, Fun, Thrilling!" After looking at this package, I could see how he was scared to open it. But then I saw that it was from the Nissan dealership down the street. So I opened it. Some papers and a Cd about the new Altima. Such a waste. A huge can with nothing in it.
Someone in my neighborhood in NYC bought the new 3.5 Altima. Two days later the windows were broken. Two days after that (with the windows covered with plastic bags) the car disappeared. I think it's probably in a shop, haven't found out who bought it yet.
Nonetheless it is a big car, although the tail section resembles a Passat more than a Benz. Interior is nice, not overly luxurious like Infiniti's.
Maybe Nissan will come to their senses and put a Skyline engine into the Maxima.
