Default Help me get the plug out under the distributor for oil feed!

Its a little 5mm allen head plug. For the life of me, I can't get it out. The allen wrench is actually starting to strip. Has anyone got this thing out of there?

hey.. good luck with getting that **** out with the allen ****.. most likely u will just strip the crap out of that thing. if u want, spray it with some rust or bolt removal chemicals and waite for a 1/2 day or so and just get a clamper with a safety lock and lock the bolt with it. then try slowly twisting it to remove it. make sure u don't strip it from the outside. this will be ur last time. once it turns, its gonna be a cake to get it off. but make sure u b patient on this. also, u will most likely not need to reuse the allen bolt anyways. that's how i got mine off. anyways.. good luck.

Can't help you. I've taken out 5 of them without any problem using a ratchet and a hex key socket. I figure if you strip it your only hope it to reverse drill it some and put in a bolt remover. Hmm... I forget the correct term, it looks like a reverse threaded tap/bolt that you screw into the hex hole and you can then turn it.

yea, I can't get a clamp around it because its indented. I'll see if I can get an allen head for my wrenches.

yes, I know about that place. There is another hole with a plug in in just under the distributor.

The one you tapped, I keep hearing bad things about that location. Granted, I believe it would be a good location. The test of the vtec solenoid includes checking pressures at that location since the solenoid wont actuate unless that has pressure there (its supposed to be kinda high actually--60+ psi). Some keep saying that at times there is very low pressure and I wonder how true this is!!!

Any ideas? Have you measured pressures there??

Let me know soon cause I just removed my oil sending switch and am ready to tap there. I will hold off till you respond since that location is much easier!

all this work? is it really that bad to use the stock pressure sender spot?

Also, I know that on my GReddy Oil Pressure gauge, there is a piece of steel braided hose between the engine and GReddy oil pressure sensor. If I run my T's off of the end of this hose, I won't have any vibration problems, right?

I just want to know if anyone runs a pressure gauge at that spot near the vtec solenoid to know if the pressures go too high or too low!

I tried that and it just strips the plug. I think the only way of getting it out is to drill it out and use a bolt/screw remover.
