Default question about TE37s

What is the correct offset and pcd for fitting 16" volks on an R? How much can i expect to pay for a set of 4? and are these wheels safe to drive on the road e.g. will they crack if i go over a huge pothole or something....

oh and does anyone know where in cali i can get these wheels, my parents are heading there to the states in december, asking them to get as much stuff as possible...

The Volk Racing TE 37s are a racing rim, and can more than handle the abuses delivered by daily driving. They are a very strong rim. Although, I did bend the lip of one of one at the ITR EXPO while I was on the track. I was turning in for a corner and was planning on drifting a little more than I did, and I hit the face of the berm head on (ouch ), but they still held air, and I continued to race on it with no problems.

As far as price goes, you are probably looking in the neighborhood of $1500 -$1700 depending on where you get them. I don't know about the offset though, sorry.

You can find the offset for the VOLKs and other wheels at

Check our page for lots of pics and details of my 16x7s, i can't remember the offset offhand, i think it was +42....it's the highest available offset, that's what you want. They fit the car very nicely, mine weighed in the 12.2 to 12.4 range...and they seem wonderfully strong and fantastically finished, the slightly polsihed lip and textured bronze arms and center just look and feel very permanent. The other colors (at least the gunmetal i've seen) are a smooth finish, not sure why, but i liked the texture of the bronze better. It's in the mods section, right side (my car)

Volk supplies you with 2 metal hub rings, if you want the other two you can get them from Gorilla, or Z-Racing (these are plastic pieces). Of course you can also get them from Volk at 8-10 USD a piece.

If you're in Australia, wouldn't it be cheaper to get it straight from Japan? The shipping from Cali to Sydney would be quite a bit... just a thought. (We have quite a few ITR owners in japan, who could probably help you out.)

Beware of buying Volks. It is a nightmare ordering them from Mackin, the US distributor. If a place has them in stock, go for it, they are light and strong, but if they say they can get them, expect to wait weeks. I waited over 4 months for 2 sets I ordered and finally had to cancel the order. The preferred size is 16*7 +42.

Because Mackin sucks so hard, they only sometimes come with the right size hubcentric rings, and only 2 even when they don't mess up. It is a shame such a nice wheel is available only through Mackin, such a piece of $h1t of a company. I got my hubcentric rings through Discount Tire direct. Aleph's page has the dimensions you need. They should be available widely because they are a standard size hubcentric ring. They also work with the Advan rims I have.

I have a GS and did not use the Hub centric rings. Same size 16x7 +42 but 4x100 for GS. Are they necessary on my application and why? What are the draw backs?

Hub rings are NOT required, you should centre them finger tight then torque em down 85 ft/lbs

Those hub rings ensure your wheels are resting on the hub not the wheel studs. They are not *absolutely* necessary but I wouldn't mount my TE without them.

Supposedly Mackin supplied 2 only so that it'll go only on the front (steering). Anyway, I am running 2 metals ones Mackin gave me up front and 2 from Z-Racing ($7.50 bucks for a set of 4 from Sears) in the rear.
