rear caliper question
Ok.. so I got some good used calipers for my rear disk swap. One is 100% perfect bolt on condition. The other needs a little TLC. The slider part had a lot of resistance so I pulled it off. The slider Pins were totally worn and warped. I have other pins I put in there and it seems the slider bracket is rusted inside. So I grab my spare slider bracket and the pins slide in and out smoothly. I go to attached that rubber boot into the groove on the slider bracket and when I push the slider pin in the boot pops off from the air pressure!
Anyone have any tips on how to re-build this damn bracket!

#14 is the part in question.

you need some brake cleaner and a small but long enough phillips screwdriver to clean out the inside of the bracket. I just did mine yesterday and you can put too mush grease in there and the slider wont go in all the way.
I would clean it out and then apply synthetic grease around the sldier, not on the tip, then test it out before you put the boot on.
btw I used synthetic because it resist heat alot better and recomend it.

Just get a rebuilt from a local auto parts store.
This doesn't sound good "The slider Pins were totally worn and warped. " And the rust didn't sound too nice either.

new = $100+!
I have a spare slider bracket and two good pins. but the rubber seal boots popped off. I can get them back in postition but as soon as i slide the slider bolt in the air pressure pops them off
any1 re-built these b4?
