Definitly check out the Skunk2's or the OEM Type S camshafts. Check it all out at http://www.jdmgears.com.

why dont you compare the skunk2 stage2 to the crower stage 3s, because the skunk2 has 505 intake and 465 exhaust. Im sure the crower isnt as good on intake. If i had to buy cams again, i think id get teh skunk2 stage 3 cams, but then again i can live with a lumpy idle.

But Skunk2 is my choice!!!
I personally have the skunk2 stage2, and im very happpy with them.

I have heard nothin but good stuff about the crower stage 3's

Now I wish I bought the 3's instead of the 2's. Anyone want to trade?

hey, the guy never showed up to help me finnish the project, i can't even get into touch with him. i can't wait to try out the skunk2 stage 2's. i also have the valve springs, retainers, cam gears, and VTEC controller, with FPR, 9lb. flywheel, and a clutch specialties stage 2 clutch. i'm hoping for some power out of it.

I like my Crower Stage 2's, noticable power gains from 3500 up, with a peak of nearly 20whp.

Not one I can post, but I did dyno at 195whp. Do you need a list of other mods?

BTW, I am one getting a SMSP header w/Cat, and I will be dyno tuning that, so hopefully I will have a postable graph then.

JUN or RS Machine cams make more power than the Skunk2's or the crowers, if tuned right.

what is the diff in stage three and stage 2 crowers....beside the obvious of more lift and aggresive lobes, i mean are they for all out race aplications or are they good for the street too? do they idle ok still?

i wanted to get stage 2's as my next mod....but if the stage 3 are much better without having to rebiuld to suit them or anything... i mean i know i'll be needing better spring and retainers....

look on crower's website.

I would go crower 3. I firmly believe the Skunk2 Stage 2 is too aggressive of a cam for a street motor. I have yet to see a skunk2 S2 dyno that makes good midrange power. It's a straight out race cam.

so crower 3 is ok for street also then?
they say all motor drag on the web site, which is why i am asking if they are ok for the street...... or does power only come on real high in the rpm

I think skunk stg 2s on the contrary would work fine on a street motor. Just need a good tuner to make sure it idles fine. Just becareful and dont run the skunk oversized vlaves with them because the lift is so tremendous, you might have clearence issues.

I've been running crower 3's for 2 years on the street. They have heavily modified non-vtec lobes so it makes power everywhere when tuned. Higher compression is a must. Idle is at 1100. Seems streeable enough for me. Here is my old dyno, realize that the car is heavilymodified and stll runs a cat and other street stuff.

so you had to raise the compression?
do you have to with the stage 2's cause i didnt want to touch the bottom end...but hey if i gotta to make some power , you got good numbers with them though, damn.... i would def be happy with that

I would say you would have alot of tuning and idle prob's without raising the compression.

compression is 11.9:1 or so, you don't have to raise compression..but you'll make more power if you do, and generally have less idle issues.

10:1 with a lumpy non-vtec cam would probably not idle so good. That's why a lot of people buy a stage 2 cam which has un-modified non-vtec loves and cam profiles to matchwith lower comp numbers.
