Balance, Alignment problem? or both
okay... at around 50mph to 65 mph, my steering wheel gets an annoying amount of shake. But if I increase my speed to 80+ mph, the shaking goes away and the steering wheel is as stable as can be....

my axles have less than 40k on them. They were replaced with rebuilt units, how can I check if the axle is on the way out, but looking at it physically?
I have found that when the axles go you tend to get vibration under load. The most common solution to your problem is to balance the tires or to make sure they are completely round. This solves about 85% of problems. Then there are some bent rims, hubs, and bad axles.
As for checking them, there should be no play in the joint. You should not be able to move it up or down, side to side. This is in the actual cv joint by the way.

A vibration within a certain MPH range, and only within that range, and only under load, is most definitely the axle. It happened twice on my old car and both times it was one of the axle's inner joints.
Oh I guess I should ask takumi if the vibration goes away if he closes the throttle, I suspect it does.
