New Shocks
I am going to be getting some H&R Sport Springs sometime soon. They are actually ones of a 5th gen. Number one, I was wondering if this would work alright on my 92 Si 4WS. Next, for the sport springs, should i also do do camber? How bad is tire wear problem without camber. Lastly, is getting new shocks highly reccomended. I really cant spare money fors new hocks right now but dont want to go trhough my stock shcoks quickly. Thanss for the help.
I asked this question before. I talked with a guy who has 5th gen H&R sport springs on his 4th Gen 4WS. They will work. He said that he thinks there are minor spring rate differences (because the cars don't weigh exactly the same)....but none that he could tell. They are the same part number.
As for the shocks, I would highly recommend getting the new shocks too since you are taking the suspension off anyway. If you are doing the work yourself...and won't have to pay for labor....I would slap them on your OEM struts for the time being. Also, if your car still has the OEM shocks...it is probably time to change them out anyway to maximize handling.
My philosophy is...do it right the first time. But if you can't, and won't waste money down the road...then do it the way you feel comfortable with.
Of all the people I have talked to with H&R sport springs...they all said that they don't have any camber issues because the drop is not that drastic. It is a spring that will give your car a more aggressive look and handle better than stock. Upgrading the shocks with sport shocks is just recommended. It is not a necessity because, again, the drop isn't significant to warrant new shocks. H&R Race springs require aftermarket shocks and camber plates.
Hope this helps.

how quickly do you think the stock shocks will wear out though. Will I be incurring a lot of tire wear because of this? I heard that the toe is what cause tire wear? Is this true? A wheel alignment should fix that though right?
