Default Anybody know the labor for clutch/flywheel installation..

I have an ACT clutch sitting in my room, brand new, and I just ordered my Comptech flywheel. So, I should be installing them soon. I just don't know how long it will take to install a clutch/flywheel. I'm probably going to have it done at Acura since I don't trust any amateur shop here in Vegas. Hopefully it won't be too expensive, anybody know..

Thanks.

I think the flat rate is 4.5-4.7 hours. Depends on your local dealer's labor rate. Ours is $68.00/hr.

Wow, so what's the big thing on JDM final drive, I saw the Best Motoring Type R video about upgrading it. Is it worth it, how much does it cost..

You should be able to buy the final drive "set" which includes JDM 1st and other goodies for ~$450. Everyone that has it loves it.

Wow,

My dealer wants $490 labor to install a clutch and flywheel. Sounds like I'm getting screwed.

If you want to drive to Colorado I'll do the clutch and fly for free, and thats for a good job by someone who cares about cars.

If you want to catch some rays here in sunny South Florida to get away from the snow in CO, I'm going to be attempting a clutch/fly install shortly any help would be a plus

hey, anyone have the service manual? I did this repair (2 times) with my friend in his nissan, and soon in my nissan and Type R also... just wanted to know the steps to get it done...Helms is out of stock on the Type R manuals... anyone have a link to a website with directions for integras or anything like that?

paying to get it done does not make any sense... if you are good at puzzles (follow me here!!) and can work with simple tools, taking it all apart and putting it back together is a puzzle... once you take it apart, installing the clutch takes what 15 minutes... then you just have to put it back together... IMO!

thanks for any help!

Default Too bad you're not in TX...

...my tranny guy works as a mechanic @ the local Acura dealership. He's one of the rare few that works on NSXs and such. That little install would only cost you $150, done out of his garage, 1 day turnaround.

yeah, it's mine... Never seen you around, where are at? I read your profile, and would LOVE a ride in your R! I picked mine up on friday, and basically spent the weekend driving it!!! It took 2 weeks to finish and I did not really drive it much for a week before I took it in. They pinched the harness for the reverse lights, so I was going to take it back in... I thought that they pinched it between the Engine and the trans... but I looked at it closer today and it is between a bracket and the trans, so I will unbolt the bracket and unpinch the wire tonight after 4 hours of CALC 2!!!!! anyway, are you a member of any of the car clubs in the "Detroit" area?
