it all depends on the build up. just bolting the two together will make about the same or even less than a stock b18c1 motor, but the low end will better.

Make sure if you use the basic head and block that you use ARP head bolts to keep the head on and make sure you wire the **** properly.

does anyone know what i would need to get, after market that is, to make a b20/vtec reliable? i mean i know i could slap my B16 head on a b20 block, but what does it take to make it work? besides wiring the block for Vtec...need some help.

i only ask cuz im doing the work myself and trying to save on labor.

Its def. better than a gsr stock for stock.Maybe a JDM GSR will be somewhat comparable.

if you use the lower comp b20b, it will be very comparable to a b18c1 and will be way less reliable for high rpm use. basically, if you are not goin gto at least change the rods, get higher comp pistons, and arp headstuds, i see no point to building it. reliablility and decent power can both be had from a stock c1 or h22.

i love the b20/vtec motor, i just feel that its not worth just slapping the two together with no precationary measures.
