Need your advice, and your opinion on this EG
I am thinking about buying this hatch it's from quebec, canada. I live on the west coast in canada and this car is in the east. Can you guys just look at these pictures and tell me if it's a good deal? IMO I think it's a awesome deal for a project car and it's the original owner.
If I do decide to buy this car I will have to pay for shipping and all of that, but can anyone give me some advice on what I should look for or how this is all done the proper way? I have never bought a car from another province before but this deal is very good.
All the hatchs I find in my city are 200,000kms (124,279miles US) si hatchs that go for the least, $5,500CND thats about $41xxUSD. First he wanted $3000 for the Si Hatch, I offered him $2200CND(1,644.98 USD) and he gave me the yes, but I just need some advice from you guys.
Here is the links for the pics of the car, not the best of shape, but the rust doesn't seem to be all to bad compared to all the eg hatchs i've been looking at in my city that are rusted everywhere. Under the door, both rear fenders. This one IMO looks pretty good shape for it's age doesn't seem like it would cost much to repair the rust on the car.

So would you pick this up for $2200CND+shipping(1,644.98 USD)
He also has all the repair records and everything, like matience and stuff like that.
Need advice and opinions
Thanks !

my personal suggestion....dont by any car with rust, youll be having to do body work over and over and over....get my point. once there is rust on the body it never leaves-kinda like a cancerous disease believe me.
is that keypad on the dash for controlling his time circuits? i mean...if it is...i'd say get it....it might go back in time...but yea...rust=nono
stay away. rust is cancer and once it starts you will never stop it. plus an out of province vehicle holds no resale value. buy an inprovince car.
that guy must be out of his mind to be asking USD $4,xxx for that POS....your offer of like USD $1,6xx considering the amount of rust that's on that thing...good luck
also, need pics of the engine bay...although i'm sure that motor is gonna come out anyway...

I've been dealing with the rust on my EG for years and have gotten the whole car redone and repainted just for the rust to come back fast and worse...DO NOT buy a car with rust like that!
The only way i would buy a rusty car is if i got it for dirt cheap and i was going to use it for a winter car. Rust is cancer and its a hard to beat once its started.
Maybe the price is good and the rust you can deal with, but how do you know what kind of mechanical shape its in? I'd be suspicious of him wanting to sell it for so cheap, and to deal with all the shipping trouble.
I didn't know west coast civics had rust problems. I'd wait tho, unless your desperate; your call. Come spring, there should be more to choose from. Whats with the black smears around the rust?
