City/Courtesy Lights
anyone have city (courtesy) lights in their USDM '94+ high beam housings? How does it look? I was thinkin about doing it when i take my lights apart paint them and to put some HID projectors in.
get these LED bulbs, i bet they would look nice at night http://www.superbrightleds.com/headlights.htm
PepBoys sells OE Honda city light sockets ? why do I doubt that.
I'm sure they would work....but something tells me they just won't be the same...I dunno.

integra's dont have city light sockets predrilled or anything, so custom work is required with or without OEM sockets, as long as the seal is good, then i wouldn't see a problem

Exactly... You can purchase a DRL relay from Honda of Canada and there is two spots for fuses in the underdash fuse box... One spot for DRL relay, and one for the DRL themselves... It just turns on the highbeam bulb, but at a lower wattage... Can neone help me get a relay...?

Dats not high beam (that would be blinding and not healthy to other drivers on the road)...he did some kinda of conversion. BTW his low beam werent on...in our cases we would have to turn on the low beam in order to use the inner lights (high beam) too. PM Outkasted24, its his car

As far as I know it's just a relay that plugs in down by the dead pedal... Then the two fuses under the dash...

Already knew that...just wondered how well the kits sold at Pep Boys were to fit into our headlights. i.e.....will they seal well ? how big of a hole must be drilled ? stuff like that. I actually think it's the same socket as our USDM sidemarker lights. They take the 194 bulbs i believe.

just a thought/</TD></TR></TABLE>
This is true. There are adjustments on the headlamp housings...but I don't know how much you would get out of them.
There are kits sold, that include a relay that hooks up to your ignition, or some ignition power supply, and they make the high beams run at half the wattage when you turn the key on. Just like most factory DRL kits.
I'll see if I can't find one online..

I'm not sure what your referring to...? Canadian Integras come stock with DRL... The only difference between theirs and ours is a relay and two fuses, as far as I know... The relay controls the wattage being sent to the DRL, cutting the highbeam wattage in half... When you turn on the headlights, the DRL's go off...

It doesn't matter, because the headlights are much dimmer and won't be blinding, even though they are aimed up. Also you can't adjust the high beams separately from the low beams.
I'm going to have to take my headlights apart again to fix my offcenter projector on the driver side, and I'll probably wire up some city lights. I'll probably just drill a hole in the bottom or top of the reflector and use some 194 sockets from AutoZone, and wire them up to the parking lights.

That's all I was gonna do. Where would the bulb look best (if it really even matters) top, bottom, or side of the housing?

Ahhh....No.
City lights are little 194 bulbs (sometimes colors) that sit in your housings (Mainly JDM except for the Newer year Preludes) and are often on during the day for a safety feature and can be used to make an Ion color to your factory light bulbs.
They are sat off to the side or bottom of a housing.
No blinking/flashing is involved.

BTW: It's kind of weird to be scanning a site and come across a pic of your own car.
