yoko ES100's for about 75 a tire if u shop around....kuhmos suck big *** but u can get em for 35 a pop, so i guess you get what u pay for
I got a set of Falken Ziex...dirt cheap, and so far they seem ok. Kinda sacrificed by going with the 'all season' tire...but oh well. Cant use high performance anymore, I was all over the place with my last set in the snow.

I'd do research one whatever set you go with. I heard Nitto 450's arent all that great in the wet. I heard some bad about the Ziex's, but they havent been bad at all for me.

the kumhos your considering don't "suck ***", but you should go with a 205/50/15 size.......you'll like them
and good at channeling water as well. I've had them a few times over the years......never could complain about them. I've also had falken azenis, and a set of nitto back in the day. The nitto had crappy sidewalls that always seemed to tear, but maybe they have fixed that problem now. I love the falken azenis in cold dry weather........they are the best bang for the buck
but don't perform as well as the kumho in the wet. This has been my real life experience with these tires, hope it helps.

If your looking for an all around good tire, may I suggest the Es100's they are only a few $'s more than the Kumhos.
I got my 205/45/16 from tirerack for $320 for a full set, so im sure the 15" will be right in your price range.

Why don't you tell me where you can get Kumho 712's for 35 bucks a tire?

i get them from a place called mid-atlantic tire in virginia...my friend burns up his front 2 every 5-6 months and he goes there and gets two new ones for 72 and sum change
it really depends on how she uses her car, is it a daily driver for her? does she care about performance, grip and all that good stuff? or she would rather have some long lasting all season tires? find out the answers to all those questions first before proceeding in the next step (purchusing them)
she wants better cornering with her stock suspension, better dry and wet traction than her current tires (crap firestones), and better high speed stability for highway driving.
i will prolly get her the yoko es100 and next step down i will get her the 712s
