you can do that or you can remove the compete assembly pump and everything but yes cutting the belt is one way to get rid of power steering its not the way to "remove" it

DUDE! you have an EK model right? Dont destroy what precision steering that is a honda just for a measly 4 hp or so. Because thats all you will get.
On the other hand, you might bulk up your arms a bit. Honda power assisted steering wasnt designed for use without the pump so you will feel like you are parking the titanic everytime you need to do a parallel park near a footpath.
Its not worth it.

Agreed. When you're an inch from hitting someone but you have to turn the wheel a good 2-3 times just to move that 1" away haha. Whatever I live without PS; much better in turns and overall feel.

If you don't loop it back into the system, your steering rack that was designed to have fliud moving through it will dry up. Then you will be ultra screwed when you have to replace your steering rack. There is a way to re-plumb the system that gets rid of the pump (and the parasitic drag with it), still routes the fluid back through the rack, and you still have almost a stock feeling steering wheel.

Okay, here is a question.. With the civic, you have 3 lines that go through the power steering cycle.. From what I understand, you can loop two of them and put a breather on the third.. My problem is I need to know which two ports to loop and which one to put to the breather.. here is a pic I just took since my engine is out..

I'm so used to it as well.. I get in my pizza delivery car with PS and I'm like OMG so easy haha. You might wanna look into Padawan's kit. I have it but have yet to install cause I'm lazy

Yes contact user padawan. He is a good guy and puts together premade kits for the whole breather setup and everything. I wish I had known about him before I searched all around looking for the parts to remove my rack. You can just take the belt off(don't cut it...that would be retarted because it only takes seconds to remove)...you will feel the extra power from taking the belt off..probably and extra 3-5whp throughout the powerband, but steering will suck until you loop the rack. If you install a breather steering will be really easy 
. I didn't go throught all the breather trouble, but I did loop the rack and its almost just as good. Just do a search on how its done...you can buy the fittings from summitracing and you can buy "power cooler" hose from acura to loop the rack.
