Default Help with code 8 in 91 crx si with D16Z6 please

Car won't start and throws code 8(TDC position) if i just sit there letting it turn over for about 15 seconds. I'm using the 91 intake manifold, wiring harness and ecu, but using the distributor from the ex engine. Thought the dizzy may be bad so I swapped it out with another one, same problem, then went and bought a brand new one and still the same problem. I know the problem isn't the 2 white wires cause if I switch them around, it'll throw code 4 also cause I've done tried that. Anybody got any ideas? Thanks

Right. Do I need to use the 88-91 and modify it to fit?

Yes. The internal sensors of the distributors send out pulses. The OBD-1 and OBD-2 send out different pulses than the OBD-0 do. Your OBD-1 distributor can't be used with the OBD-0 ECU.
