Scammed?
I need help...
Here's the story...
I bought a set of JDM HID Headlights for my car around Christmas time. The guy closed the auction early and so I emailed him asking if he still had the headlights for sale. He emailed me back saying he still had them and if I want them send him an international money order (he lives in Canada - Winnipeg, MB to be exact). I sent him the money order and then awaited the tracking number. He sent me a tracking number that never worked from the first place. He explained to me since he used ground shipping with a canada label that if it crosses the border they won't be able to track it. I was unable to track it from the first day he gave me the number and so I emailed Canadapost.com and they said that with the wrong label, it wouldn't be able to be tracked even if it were in Canada. The thing is, the person kept emailing me and still does if I email him with a question.
He said he is willing to send me a new set of headlights since I've been so calmly waiting, but keeps making excuses saying there are things holding the shipments back. Is there any way to recover the money if I used a money order or have I been scammed? The person seems to still be selling items and have been receiving positive feedbacks on eBay, but it has been over 2 months since I sent him the payment. If there is any way to recover my money, someone please help me...
Thank you~

Well. Money Orders can be cancelled, but I am not sure of the process. Do what I did....use that guys shipping address and turn it into his local police department. How long has it been since the MO was sent?
It has been about 2 1/2 months since the money order was sent...
I believe he has already cashed it out...
I have no idea on how money orders work either...
Any advice would be nice...
And hope your conflict gets resolved as well...

money orders are secured.
the money is transferred from you to a lienholder such as a financial institution who then issues a money order, which is as a bond until the person who is issued the order redeems it at either the financial institution where issued or through their bank.
in which regards, you can cancel/revoke a money order provided it has not been paid.

Argh... ic...
Well the guy emailed me back again...
I don't think he's a total scammer... but I believe he sold the original headlights to someone else for more money and is trying to find another pair to sell me...
He said he has another set coming from Japan right now and will be here in a week or two...
I'll see what happens and then if I don't get a set of headlights within a month...
I will do what jdmspoonitr did...
Thanks for the info...
