Default Pics of 205 and 195 series tires

I am in the market for upgrading my tires to a stickier tire. I can get the tires wholesale so I should get a good deal on them. Question is: is there a huge difference in these two sizes on the same tire? Right now i have 195's and might want to upgrade to 205's. Should i get the 205/55 or 205/50 series? I was looking at the Bridgestone Potenza RE730 205/50 series tire. What do you think?? Give me some pics between the 205/55 series and 205/50 series or if you have any pics that might help my cause i will greatly appreciate it. Thanks

Mike

pics really won't help in justifying the difference too well...I'd go w/ 205 50 as that's the closest to stock diameter and shouldn't offset your speedo that much, if at all...

what about the looks of the 205/50's? Will it be more wheel gap than from the factory??

I was a little worried about that when I went to 205/50, but I never noticed a difference...

you're not going to notice a wheel gap difference, it's essentially the same size DIAMETER as stock, with slightly wider tread, similar size height sidewall...

if you're not familiar w/ the tire #'s, it may sound confusing...

195 55 15 195 width, 55 height in % of width (ie 55% of 195mm = sidewall) 15inch rim equates to 107.25mm height of sidewall

205 50 15 which equates to 102.5 mm height of sidewall (ie 50% of 205mm)

Go with the 205/50/15...I have those on my R. Just click on the link on my sig for pictures.

Right now, I got some ridging of the tire wear (these are my daily driven, rain, snow and summer tires), I wonder if it's because of the wider tread (probably).

Cool ok 205 series it is. I didn't notice a difference in wheel gap on TommyGuns tires at all. What about brand? I was looking at:

1) Bridgestone Potenza RE730
2) ECSTA Supra 712 (Kumho?)
3) BF Goodrich Comp TA ZR

Here is a cool link to help people figure tire size/speedo error/etc.
