I was looking through my engine bay today and noticed that on several parts in the engine bay there are painted colored dots on several parts.

There are several colors (blue, navy, yellow, white dots) on several parts (nuts, a few hoses, some other metal parts also)

What does this mean? Does anyone have these painted spots on their parts?

 

I think they are there to distinguish what parts are what in the factory during assembly..
