so after 5 days and 300 miles the clutch seems to be softening up a little more. It is still engaging pretty hard, but I havent been slamming gears nor have i taken it past 5,500 rpms. This is the first REAL performance clutch I have ever had install in any car I have owned. I am almost positive that this is normal for break in but Im just double checking. Thanks!

what type of clutch disc do you have?..had ACT in my car both street disc and 5 puck and the engagement was firm and hard compared to stock but felt and grab excellent..thats how performance clutches work

 

I have the same and I waited til 500 miles to beat on it, I still have the same set up and grabs like a **** a year later.

 

only performance clutch experience i have is when i put a spec stage 2 clutch in my 240sx, and breakin was little different from yours. at first my pedal feel was extremly soft, then began to stiffen w/ mileage. but this is 2 different cars and clutches

 

My HD pressure plate was like that too. The first time I let the clutch out, I damn near **** my pants. After driving on it for a day or two, it softened up and I got more used to it.
