How many people have had their trans replaced under warranty? I was at the dealer and saw the second ITR in the last 2 months that was getting a new trans under warranty. Apparently they were both making noise.

Cool, looks like free trans for everyone! I've never been too impressed with Honda trannies. They're very smooth, but the synchos usually need replacing. In fact, I had my first gear and some synchos replaced after only 11k miles. I even had problems with my old vtec del sol, the 5th gear and synchos went out.

 

Mine sounds like it is full of rocks.They should be replacing it soon.Another friend had his replaced at the same dealer.His 5th/rev shift fork was bent.

 

my friend had her 2nd or 3rd gear synchro go out on her itr and she got her tranny replaced under warranty as well. i think she had around 10,000 miles or so.

 

i got mine done under waranty, mine was syncros, they rebuilt it though. . . . these things must really be shitty, i bought this thing cuz it was supposedly bulletproof. . . . . . **** this anyone wanna buy an r, i want an altezza now.................................(psyche)
but for reall this is going on too much now, mine went at 7000 miles on it . thats bullshit.

that was my black Type R. and yes mine was making a really loud whining noise... I just picked it up from them today (it took 2 weeks for them to get a new one to the dealership) well Everything is fine and great... they replaced the clutch ***'y also. it works great. I have not gotten on it hard yet, I will break the clutch in for 250 to 500 miles. I got home opened the hood, and found a harness that they forgot to connect... they pinched the wires where the trans meets up with the engine... (ooops!!! ) so I called back there and It turned out it is my reverse lights harness... I have to take it back on Wednesday for them to connect it... (when they pinched the wire, it made the harnesss just short enough not to connect What were you doing at the dealership.. and where are toy at? I only see one R around here and it is PY, and really loud!!!!!
