1999 GS-R loses power at low RPMs
try to check your codes and see what they say. Use a paper clip as a jumper. all you got to do is unfold it to a u shape and put it in the plug. Make sure that the metal on the paper clip is touching the pins in the plug. easier if u have someone hold it. the plug is on the pssenger side under the dash it is small blue plug with 2 wires coming in to it and should be plugged into a green rubber peice with a slot for another plug next to it. it should be right above the kick pannel where it meets the dash. Anyway that is were i would start since it is easy.
I dont know if this will do anything for you either but reset ur ecu. its worth a shot. Hopefully it is just something small like that. my 99 gsr did something kinda like that but i could not cross over into vtech and i reset mine and it stopped.
hmmm... have you checked that the o2 sensor didn't pop out?
i have no idea if this would cause the problem, i'm onl ysuggesting it because you mentioned that you had changed the exhaust that day.
if it does it at low throttle load and not at WOT, then it might explain the problem (ecu switches to open loop at WOT i believe).
thing is, i'd expect the cel to be lit up if the o2 sensor was mucking up... and you'd deffinately hear the leak.
but, it's worthwhile checking. look at the simple things first hey
good luck.
