PlLEASE HELP ME !!!!!
ok, this is my situation, i own a 99 mk3 gti vr6 and am about to sell it for 21 000 (can) it drives like new, 36k's on it. I drove a type r and loved the cars feel, but im hearing all these things about 1.8 liters not being enoupg and thaty the tourqe really sux, im leaving a 2.8 litre 174 lb/tourque. Should i get a type r, opinions please, any other suggestions i have $26 000 to spend onm y next car, i can get an r, 99 with 60 k's on it, suggestions help!!!!
the people who are telling you it doesnt have enough torque are usually people who are basing their opinion off of pure numbers. The car has enough torque to be fun and more topend than most.
would a stockk itr destroy and mk3 vr6 in a stoplight situation like race?

The ITR has a lot of torque. At 7600 rpm in the first gear!!!! The only disadvantage is that you have to shift one or two gears down if you want to accelarate during cruising. In a VR6 you just step on the throttle.
If you're used to VW brands, ITR will feel weird for a while. The lack of torque in ITR is something you just live with... however, it doesn't feel that bad to me 'cuz I've had 3 other I-4 Honda's before the R.
In order to enjoy an R, you gotta have 2 driving styles... one for daily driving and one for racing. On daily driving, just drive it like a Civic. On race days, punch it like there's no tomorrow.
Bottom line: You'll miss the torque, but will soon forget about it w/ high revs.

I like the R because of its Jekyl and Hyde personality. I mean, you can drive it like a freaking civic and save lots of gas, but once you rev it up, it's a ******* beast.
