A/C Compressor question...PLEASE HELP ASAP
Ok, I have a 92 DX Hatch with a JDM ITR swap. I already have a Del Sol AC bracket with a compressor already installed. However this compressor is not working and Im about to get another compressor. Before doing so, I need to know which compressor to get.
I have already converted my car from R12 to R134a through a honda dealership. Which compressor should I get? Should I get the compressor off of a 92-93 civic, or should I get a compressor off of a 94-95 civic? Also would it be a Mitsuba or a Sanden compressor? I tried searchnig, but the only useful information i found is that there are 3 types of compressors. One that only works R12 refrigirant, one that only works with R134a, and one that works with both. I'm still unsure as to which one I should get.
I would really appreciate it if someone could get back to me ASAP as the person I'm buying the compressor from is waiting to hear back from me before he ships it out. Thanks in advance for any help...

From what i understand all SOHC a/c compressors are the same. I believe you need the Mitsuba compressor because Sanden makes the DOHC compressor.
Ok so mitsuba...but what about the whole R12 and R134a argument...? Is that correct or not? I mean are there compressors that are only meant to work with R12 and others that are only meant for R134a?

I'll see if it shows it in my pics.
Can't see if it says sanden. Does the Sanden compressor have the green sticker on it like in my pic? if so, this was from my ek sohc, so i believe it does matter what compressor you have if your going to run r134a refrigerant.

It should say sanden on the sticker. That looks like a sanden scroll compressor, they have green stickers like that, except that one is missing the heat shield / pressure relief deflector from the back of it. It's not really big, but the manufacturer's name will be there. That looks like the correct compressor for 94+ R134a. I'm not sure if you need a different compressor for R134a, but I think that one will work, because it looks like just the one from my 1994 Civic that came with R134a from the factory. Also, R134a conversions are done without changing compressors all the time (only hookup valves and seals are changed), so you should be good with using just about any compressor that will bolt up.
