Default Cleaning Short Ram Intake?

I have an Aem short ram intake and where the air gets sucked in (I guess it's called the filter?) there is massive amounts of dirt clogged in, I assume im losing Horsepower because of this. Is there a way to clean it, or do I replace it or what?

When I had a short ram Akimoto Intake on my GS-R, I took out the filter and rinsed it under hot water. Dried it, and plugged it right back in. Did this every 4 months or so.

It would be nice to re-oil it, but I never did and I never had problems.

thanks I didn't know if it was ok to do that, guess I'll try it today. Did you feel gains in your hp after you did this?

You could just get the K & N filter cleaning kit for $15-$20. Comes with cleaner and oil. Works great!

rinse it under hot water until it looks whiter...then let it dry for a bit...hook it back up and you're good to go
