I just purchase new wheels for my car and want wider tires for traction. I wanted to know if there would be any rubbing/scraping with a 225/40-16 tire. The car will also be lowered so there is about a 1 finger gap between the fender and tire.

I now have some 17" Velox wheels and tires for sale if anyone is interested

 

yes you will rub like ****, even 215 is too wide for tegs.

 

unless u got a high offset, yes its too wide.

 

too wide bro...and there won't really be a diff fo traction. Stick w/ 195 or 205

 

If you want to use Falken Azenis, the 215/45 is about a big a tire as that will fit. Note the Azenis in a 215 is a very wide tire, ie wider than other manufacturers 215's.
